FRENCH MOVIES - MY RECOMMENDATIONS

Let’s be honest French language is not easy to learn: more grammar rules than words in a dictionary, words with ‘silent’ letter and last but not least the pronunciation…

To improve your pronunciation, you have to listen to native French speakers daily. If you don’t have the chance to live in a francophone country, movies are a good solution.

Personally, I did it for English and I lose my strong French accent and I’m currently doing it with Korean language. It works! You will quickly see improvements.

And it’s not the only advantage of watching movies, you can learn « actual » language/sentences and not words in a book that are not used by locals. We all have this experience to be proud to shout out one complicated word we have learnt and get deceived when you see the face of the native who doesn’t understand what you are saying…

Movies also give some indications about a society and a culture! Of course, it’s a double-edged sword, as it’s fiction and everything is amplified. But still, the way they filmed, the color and light used, the scenery paint a picture of the country you may learn from :)
