France and Paris are not more dangerous than other places. Since the terrorist attacks in France, I know many people are afraid to come but you should not stop living because you are afraid!
“For centuries, those who love death have sought to make us lose our love for life. They’ve never succeeded… Instead of dividing us, you remind us of the preciousness of our way of life.”
Beside terrorists, you need to be more careful of pickpocket and malicious persons. Here, some simple advice to make your trip safer.
1 Do not keep all your cash on you, leave some at your hostel.
2 Take a bag that you can closed, and keep it closed when you are walking in the street.
3 Do not answer to some young girls who are asking you to sign a paper in the street. They work in group and try to grab your attention while one of them is stealing something.
4 Be careful when you take your phone out to take photos. Try to look a little around you before.
5 Be careful of the closing hours of subway/metro.
6 If you are a girl do not walk in the street alone late at night. Avoid dark streets.
7 Do not fell asleep in the streets or in the train/metro.
There is no streets nor arrondissements more dangerous than others in Paris.
To let you know, I live in the suburbs of Paris and I have never been attacked nor stolen in Paris thanks to the small precautions I told you above.
So come to Paris, to France and enjoy your trip in the capital of love!
