I have heard some of my friends saying that “anyway, French girls are lucky, they are naturally thin, they can eat everything they want”. Well, be assured that it’s totally a myth.
If French women are in a good physical shape, it’s all thanks to their life hygiene. Weight is one of the top preoccupation of women in France. We take care a lot of our body because for us it's “an healthy spirit in a healthy body”. The average weight of French woman is 62kg. How French women determine their “ideal weight”? It is their height minus 10. For instance, if your height is 165cm we will say that your ideal weight is around 55kg.
Now some secrets and eating habits well-known and followed by French girls to stay fit.

I believe that the society and our education also has a huge impact on our hygiene life.
First of all, French parents play a huge role. They prevent their kids to eat too much candies and snacks, they force them to eat vegetables and balanced meals every day. Those habits from childhood keep up as we grow up.
The French government is also promoting a healthy lifestyle through ads and mandatory mentions. Typical mandatory sentences that you can read on the ads in France are “Snacking between meals causes weight gain,” or “It is recommended to have at least 30 minutes of physical activity per day.”, “eat at least five vegetables and fruits per day”, “to be consumed with moderation”…
So in general French women are slim because they put a lot of efforts into it but also thanks to their education and their environment they live in.
