NO RULE
There is no "dating rule" in France.
First date, second date, etc. don't have special meaning here. Sometimes one will be “enough” to start dating sometimes more will be needed.
UNDERSTAND THE MESSAGES SENT BY FRENCH WOMEN
Do not mistake kindness and real flirt. You might think that she is interested in you when it’s not the case. Also, be careful and learn how to understand the messages sent by the girl. Doing “la bise”, smiling, being nice and going out for a diner DO NOT necessarily mean she is “interested” in you, in a romantic way. She might see you only as a friend. Because yes, friendship between men and women is considered as possible in France.
You know a French girl is flirting with you when she is touching her hairs and is smiling timidly. She will do a lot of effort to look elegant and very feminine.
BE TENACIOUS
If you want to date a French girl, you will need to be tenacious and show her that you want a serious relationship with her. French girls are not easy. That’s also maybe thanks to French women that French men are considered as very romantic overseas. They have it so hard with French women!
BE CAREFUL OF STEREOTYPES
As most foreigners think, sex is not taboo in France, French people do accept more easily consenting sex outside a relationship. However, we are not libertine and we do associate sex with love.
French girls do not like to be seduced in public place or transport, they only want to make their path in peace. So, take advantage of parties organized with friends and friends of friends. They are the best moment to meet a girl, engage a chat and flirt.
