1. FRENCH PEOPLE STINK

I don’t know where this stereotype comes from, but after visiting many countries, French people don’t stink more than anyone else.
2. FRENCH WOMEN DON'T SHAVE

French women pay attention to their look and shaving is considered essential by most of them.
3. FRENCH PEOPLE ARE LAZY
TRUE AND FALSE
French are notoriously known for being very lazy. Probably because of their love for strikes and the number of holidays. However, according to The Economist, Canadians go on strike much more often than French people.
Moreover, even if the average of working hours per year (1,453) is smaller than in many countries, French people still work more than others such as Germans (1,337) and Norwegians.
4. FRENCH WOMEN DRESS LIKE FASHION MODELS

French women pay attention to their look and try to be fashionable and elegant at every hour. However, most of them buy their clothes in shops like H&M, Bershka and Zara. Branding clothes from Dior, Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent remain a dream for many.
5. FRENCH PEOPLE DRINK WINE ALL THE TIME

Some French people do drink wine daily but in general, wine is drink during celebrations or on weekend.
There is also a whole drinking etiquette for wine as it is considered as a “classy” drink. For instance, you should not drink from the bottle or in one go.
6. FRENCH PEOPLE OFTEN EAT SNAILS AND FROGS

They are rarely eaten by French people. Of course, you will find some on the menu of restaurants but they are often touristic restaurants, which want to fit the idea foreigners have about French food.
7. FRENCH PEOPLE COMPLAIN ALL THE TIME

French people are not afraid to say what they think and complain when something doesn’t make them happy. It’s cultural, even though I can understand it can be unpleasant for foreigners to hear our complains all the time.
8. THE FRENCH EAT A LOT OF CHEESE
TRUE
French people eat cheese every day. You definitely have to try French cheese when you come to France! There are so many that you will definitely find one that will fit you taste.
